  From the Airport

  From Frankfurt Rhein Main Airport, you have the following options:
  • Train (ca. 1,5 - 2 hours from Frankfurt; approx. 30 Euros one-way)
  • Airport shuttle (ca. 1,5 hours, approx. 40 Euros one-way)
  • Rental car (ca. 1-1,5 hours, depending on traffic)

  By Train

  Train rides take approx. 1 ½ - 2 hours. For tickets, please refer to Deutsche Bahn (From: "FRA", To: "Kaiserslautern") To reach your hotel from the main train station, you can take a taxi (approx. 5-10 Euros) or bus (1,70 Euros):
  • Novotel: Take Bus #2 / 102 to "Betzenberg" (final stop).
  • Zollamt: Take Bus #5 / 105 or #7 / 107 to "Balbierstraße", (direction: "K.-Schumacher-Str." or "Lämmchesberg")
  Timetables are displayed within the train station. For more information, please refer to the public transport website (specify from: "Kl, Hauptbahnhof", to: "Kl, Betzenberg" / "KL, Balbierstraße")

  Shuttle Service

  You can also book shuttles from nearby airports to Kaiserslautern; shuttle runs will be coordinated by the shuttle operator.

  Conference Reception

  The reception will take place on Wednesday, October 09, 19:00 - 21:00, at the Casimirsaal.

  Shuttle buses will leave from the hotels around 18:40/18:45. In case you miss these buses, you can take taxi or city buses from Novotel or Zollamt.

  Getting to Fraunhofer IESE

  Shuttle buses will operate between Novotel/Zollamt and Fraunhofer IESE.
  • Monday: 08:00 / 08:15
  • Tuesday: 08:20 / 08:35
  • Wednesday: 08:20
  • Thursday: 08:00 / 08:15
  • Friday: 08:20 / 08:35
  In case you miss the shuttle buses, you can take the city buses (see below).

  From Novotel to IESE

  • Take Bus #2 / 102 to the main train station ("Hauptbahnhof") (see bus schedule: short / full)
  • walk to stop "Post" (see map)
  • take city bus no. 6/106 (towards Mölschbach) or no. 15/115 (towards Universität) (see schedule)
  • get off at the "Fraunhofer-Zentrum" stop.
  Note: Both buses do not depart from the central bus station in front of the train station, but rather from the "Post" stop across the street from the main post office in Logenstraße.
  To get there, go straight down the hill from the main entrance of the train station, then turn left at the light. At the next light, cross the street and the intersection; the bus stop is located directly in front of the building "Caritas St. Christophorus". See also this map.

  From Zollamt to IESE

  From Zollamt, it is best to walk (approx. 10 minutes)

  Reaching the Fraunhofer Center By Car

  Coming from the West on Autobahn A6, take the exit Kaiserslautern-West (15), then go towards downtown and follow the signs towards the university. Before you get to the university, you will reach the building complex of the Fraunhofer Center a few hundred meters down Trippstadter Straße, on the right side of the street. Coming from the East on Autobahn A6, go to the Autobahn Interchange ("Autobahndreieck") Kaiserslautern, and take the exit Kaiserslautern-Centrum (16a). Then first follow the signs towards Betzenberg Soccer Stadium, then towards the university. It is best to use the detour behind the train station area via Zollamtstraße; at the end of the street, turn onto Trippstadter Straße. The building complex of the Fraunhofer Center is located approx. 500m down the street on the right side.
